The artists that we’ve asked to play at the event are all practising the activism and DIY methods that is at the heart of Unconvention. Each artist here is using aspects of both old and new school music business and, in most cases, they will be around to chat to throughout the day of their gig. The range of artists is set out through the day. Acoustic musicians and the Unconvention Jukebox in the day, bands into the night and electronica and DJ’s into the early hours.
On friday night the bands are presented by Swn

In their own words “Swn promotes and celebrates new music coming in and out of Wales. It means ‘Sound’ and is pronounced ‘soon’. We put on gigs all year round, predominantly in Wales, from our base in Cardiff, which is where we host our annual three day Swn Festival. It’s a sort of Cardiff crawl, with bands from Wales and around the world playing over three jam-packed days. You buy a wristband and run about the city seeing as much new music as you possibly can. In between the gigs we promote we also produce a free music magazine featuring music we like – you can pick one up if you live in Cardiff, or you can download a copy from www.swnfest.com if you live anywhere in the world. We also curate stages at other festivals and events – bringing great new music we love to people who might love it too. Hope you do.”
John Rostron and Huw Stephens curate Swn and have put together the band line-up for the night.
